There has been a lot thrown at all of us in these last few months, and here in this post is not where I want to focus on the specifics of all that that entails - because well, I could go on and on. Instead it is a place where I want to first say that if you are here reading this, I am sending wishes of health, happiness and healing to you and your family and friends, in whatever form you need it most right now.
Back in April, a few weeks after we moved into our new apartment I bought what is called a “flow book,” that had been on my wish list for about a year. The book is called A Book That Takes Its Time and is a book that involves multiple journals, stickers, prompts, activities, postcards and more. It is extremely interactive, and the idea is that it does take you a while to get through it all; it pulls you out of your everyday for a little bit and really challenges you to reflect on and pay attention to the things that you normally wouldn’t in the every day.
I loved the concept of the book before I even opened it, but a few days after incorporating it into my journaling routine in the morning, I came across an activity that asks you to write down a “beautiful moment” a day. There is no real definition given to you, and it is left up to you how you choose the moments and when you write them down. There are about two months worth of little beautiful moment cards that you can fill out and keep in a jar for later, and I have thoroughly enjoyed flipping through them on a bad day!
Below I am sharing all of the beautiful moments that I have jotted down through participating in this exercise for the last two and a half months - just to show you where you can still find happiness even in the darkest of hours!

June 3, 2020 - Yesterday was tough, but Bryer and I did spend some quality time together in the evening hours.
I hope that these were entertaining to read through and also serves as a bit of proof that in most all cases, even when things get very tough, there is always a silver lining. There is always something or someone to be grateful for - and to be alive is a beautiful thing in itself.
Even though I have run out of cards that the book provided, I want to keep up the habit of jotting down one beautiful moment per day in my journal each morning. I have found that I am much more appreciative of the small things lately, and that I thoroughly enjoy flipping through them all after a month has gone by!
Keep educating yourself, keep taking care of you, and dream big friends!
